What tests do our industrial ethernet switches go through before delivery? What is the testing process like? Mainly for industrial ethernet switch performance inspection and reliability inspection, it also includes resistance inspection, capacitor withstand voltage test, power supply test, wire, module, cable, network card data flow performance test, high and low temperature impact resistance test (-40 degrees ~ 85 degrees ) Motherboard startup test, first vibration test, first data test, high temperature aging test, second vibration test, high voltage withstand voltage test, second data test, etc. Generally speaking, it can be divided into the following four aspects:
1. Component stability test
Industrial ethernet switches are composed of numerous electronic components, such as resistors, capacitors, protective devices, chips, DC-DC, etc., each of which plays a key role. The device temperature rise test is to verify whether the case temperature of the components meets the specified requirements. When testing the Industrial Switch, the switch must be fully loaded, and the temperature sensing line should be attached to the case of the key components, and the test should be performed in an environment of 85°C for 4 hours.
2. Environmental reliability test
Environmental reliability testing refers to the ability of a product to perform a specified function under specified conditions and within a specified time. In the process of design and application, the product is constantly subjected to the influence of its own and external climatic environment and mechanical environment, but still needs to be able to work normally. Environmental reliability test is divided into high temperature test, low temperature test, high and low temperature cycle test, high temperature and high humidity test, high and low temperature start-up test. Put the industrial switch in a constant temperature and humidity box, output at full load, set 100% run-off in the network tester, and adjust the temperature of the constant temperature and humidity box to -45°C for low temperature, 85°C for high temperature, 95% humidity, and high and low temperature. Cyclic mode, each item is tested for more than 24 hours, and the packet loss test results are viewed.
3. Electromagnetic Compatibility Test (EMC)
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a comprehensive evaluation of the electromagnetic field interference (EMI) and anti-interference capability (EMS) of electronic products, and is one of the important indicators of the quality of industrial switches. EMC test includes two major items: EMI test (interference, radiation, emission) and EMS (sensitivity, anti-interference) test. EMS routine test items are divided into three types: lightning surge, static electricity and pulse group. In addition, a large number of electrical equipment are often deployed in industrial environments, and these equipment will generate strong electromagnetic noise during operation, which will bring a series of disturbances to the data transmission of field network equipment, making the performance of the entire communication network. Drops, including severe thunder and lightning weather, can also have a devastating impact on electronic equipment.
4. Burn-in test
Aging test refers to the process of simulating the various factors involved in the actual use of the product to carry out the corresponding condition strengthening experiment on the aging of the product. The aging test is also called roasting machine or burning machine, which means to test it harshly or "try to burn it". Only those products that have survived the hard torment are excellent products, and reputable companies will only sell these to user.
The aging test is divided into temperature aging, sunlight aging, loading aging and so on. High temperature aging is generally carried out in several grades, and the industrial use is generally 85 degrees, 4 hours, and 15 degrees. Generally, there are several grades of 40 degrees, 55 degrees, 70 degrees, and 85 degrees, and the time is generally 4 hours.
The aging test is to achieve a satisfactory pass rate, and almost all products must be aged before leaving the factory. The first reason for burn-in is to improve the reliability of the product, so far there is no other alternative. For new products, it is necessary to assess the performance of new components or the whole machine, and the aging index is higher. Aging exposes the defects of the product before leaving the factory, such as the reliability of solder joints, various defects in the design, material and process of the product; aging makes the product performance enter a stable range before leaving the factory, reducing the repair rate.
In addition to the above-mentioned environmental reliability test, EMC electromagnetic compatibility test, and component stability test, Houshi Network Technology industrial switches will also undergo a series of tests, such as drop test, random vibration test, signal integrity test, power supply integrity test Test items such as performance test, Ethernet switching performance test, aging test, withstand voltage test, etc., to ensure that industrial switches can not only withstand extreme tests of high and low temperature and cold, so as to easily cope with sudden vibration and impact, meet the requirements of smart grid, rail transit , integrated pipe gallery, intelligent transportation, smart city, miner metallurgy, petroleum and petrochemical, new energy, smart factory, shipbuilding, military industry, building security and other fields under complex environment network construction tasks, for various industrial production environments Networking provides reliable equipment support.
